Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with several awards for her work which includes an Oscar. Her career began acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year production. As a result of having mumps, she went blind on the other side of her ear. This didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to pursue a career as an actress. As a young woman she took classes in drama at college before moving from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. Through a random encounter, she was stuck in an elevator alongside playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that made Hunter's debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the lead character of Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in many TV movies as well as series and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
